The church here gets a symbol for roots of european culture. It fascinates and threatens at the same time.

Summer, anyone?

Energy is not always easy to explain or describe - the energy between two hands, between two human beings, two souls, the teacher and the student, the artist and his muse, the creative side of Your own brain and Your rational. Sometimes it's also immensely difficult to determine which part leads and which part follows.

Self portrait IV

My shadow says Hallo to all the cyberfolks!

Lemon soap

Ok, this picture does not fit to my theory, it only tells that I use lemon soap in my bathroom (-:

Virtual flowers

A photo of roses ... mixed on a pc with a dessert... then photographed again... and now on your pc... that is the picture of the picture of the picture (-:

Dangerous flowers

Light and shadow... every photo needs good, clearlight and warm shadows.

Living flowers

The teasing smell of colours...

Dying roses

Flowers for a dying fried II.

late night flowers

Late view on my alarmclock before going to sleep...

still life III

Rose leaves for a dying friend. The leaves were scattered over the scanner, and then overworked with phototools on the pc.

Rose over calendar

Flowers transport ... the smell of love

still life

I like very much flowers. Flowers can tell a story. But in this story there must be some fantasy, some fairy tale...good or bad. Even the old still lifes of the painting masters bring some story into the still life, you have traces of hunting, opulence, pleasure, love and death.

Landscapes II

These are small sketch drafts from a road in south france and the first Kailash view on the way from Lhasa. Often I photograph my pictures and then I overwork them with the photo programms. So It´s really a mixture of painting and photo...

Landscape

When I draw or paint, my favourite object is the landscape or a town. I am absolutly unable to draw persons (-:

Another Side

Today I want to show you the other side. Besides taking photos I like to draw and paint. The first picture was a preparatory work for a bigger painting, which never was realised because the lady on the picture was gone before I could finish it. Such is life. If you look exactly, you´ll find some symbols of my town... the river in the middle.

Spring I

Hallo, I have a good news: Spring is coming. Even in our cold and rainy region. Last sunday I could make my first spring walk. The japanese cherries have been in blossom. Here is the proof!

New discovered

By chance I stumbled over a building in our town, which was completly new for me. Strange that in a big town you can life for years without knowing each part. In the university, in a hidden corner, I found the biologic garden with a magnificet glas dome. Flowers inside and outside...

Go out and have a look!

As the warm times come, you go out and discover your neighbourhood in a new way. Winter makes you lazy and staying in the rooms. Now it´s the time to discover the world again.

Spring II

I am lucky to present a new technic for my photos. Extrem details overworked with painting programms... Do you like it?

Self portrait III

Well, if I am asked who I am, I wonder and I look down to my feet... I´m a walker, a rambler, a wanderer. All our life long we are wanderer. It´s nice to be a wanderer on this lovely world for some years.

I´m not there - the new film about Bob Dylan- a review

First of all: This is a bad movie. Chaotic, boring, meaningless. Nobody would shed a tear, if this film would not exist. The lengths of the film makes you fall asleep, even if you are benevolent. The cutter was probably also nodded off and he has cut the scenes as he received them randomly by Post.

A long time you think, you´re still in the programme picture, but then you are on the wrong track. Often it remains unclear, whose story is told actually: that of Woody Guthrie, that of Pete Seegers or Bob Dylan. The single stories just dont fit. What you see is more than a split personality, it is simply incoherent. The idea to use seven actors to play Dylan is genial, but the realisation is dilletante.

But nevertheless, it is a very beautiful bad film. Kate Blanchett plays very persuading the cynical poet, who has no order in his life and who gets tired, that every shit out of his mouth is sold as a wisdom by the medias. The wheel of cigarettes, drinks and drugs spins faster and faster, she perfectly plays a man, who no longer is able to feel love or emotions. Kate IS Dylan, no, she is better than Dylan himself. Until now, I thought, that it´s a crazy idea, to have man rolls played by a woman, but now I am convinced, that it is possible. She perfectly expresses the fundamental problem of a poet, who realises, that he can´t change the world. She perfectly plays the bohemian, who loses respect for everything, even himself.

And the time of the sixties is distilled full of atmosphere: the parties, the fashions, the meanigless rebellion of the do-gooders, the euphoria of drog prophets, the flickering screens with bombs, assassinations and riots. The reality gets absurd and is expressed in a abruptly "minced" way, as it was practised by the Dada movement after the First World War. "I accept the chaos, but I don´t know wether the chaos accepts me", that slogan of Dylan expresses exactly that feeling.

In short, the motto of the film and of that time was: Life is a colorful game, and you don´t need a sense for that game. Today, however, we feel the bitter and murky seriousness of life and try to find out the sense in that . As we look into the sixties, this film is a good time machine.

So there were some thoughts and ideas of brilliance, who unfortunately were sunken in the sea of chaos. They would be worth a rescue work in order to lift them. All in all, if somebody would cut the film to the half time and if someone would re-arrange the scenes, this could be a rather good film. In the actual form it is only Dada and psychedelic. If there was an Oscar for "most beautiful bad film", I would nominate "I'm not there" immediately.

My Tulips I

When I saw the "lovelife of the tupils" yesterday, I was shocked. It reminded me so much of my tulip collection from last year, that I had the feeling to be in a time warp or a film copy of my own life. This feeling was strange and a little scaring. Somebody had stolen my eyes....*** smile*** and ***greetings***

My Tulips II

Don´t be afraid to throw out disturbing details. They are not important to see the inner structures, the feelings of a photo. Never forget Saint-Exupéry: Only with the heart you see clearly.

Carpetshop

Oh yes: photographs do not always show reality - as you experience the view in your soul. I know. You must help the feeling to come out of the picture. Change shape, cut-out, the light intensity and colours as long until it touches your soul.

Aliens in our town

The night changes all colours and shapes. Harmless art statues mutate into aliens... The simple camera of the mobilphone did a good job. A good picture does not always need an expensive camera.

Ernesto....

....no... not Ernesto Che Guevarra. This is Ernesto Cardenal. He was reading poems and prose texts in a Church nearby. He is an old man, but still with a lot of fire... and a lot of winking waggery. Even if he is a preast, he expresses his love for women (he praises their beauty and power of attraction, oh yes), mankind, earth, environment, freedom, for the whole creation and even the stars. His love and interest lingers from one to the other and he mixes all these themes. It´s realy worth reading and listening his poems. He is never cusy or lazy, a kind of a very private rebel. He rebels agains bad words as well as agains tyranny. Impressing, still today, even if his best time (as education minster of the revolutionary Nicaragua) is faded for long.

My Lake- in Winter

"There once was a lady of Riga who gave me the inspiration for a ride on the tiger..."

I know, that´s not the original limerick, but that´s more fitting for me. Today I had my inspiration from a nice little comment by the "Lady of the Lake" and the lake photos on her blog. That reminded me to go out and make some new photos of my favourite lake and its surrounding. I too have a lake, which I love best. To be true, it is more a pool or pond, but I like it. With these photos I say "thank you" to the "Lady of the Lake" and her comment.

japanese atmosphere

My little lake is located in... oh, that´s a secret. I dont reveal it. But I go there since my youth and I know every season there. Once there was a hotel at the waterside of my dreamily lake. But it was torn down, as not enough people went there. Since that the lake once again is pure nature. For me it is a source of power, love and inspiration.

My Lake- in Winter II

In the middle of this little lake lives a mythical being which influences all living creatures from far and wide. I went there to celebrate my love as well as my sorrows. The lake and its mysterious center always helps me reestablish my inner peace, when I´m in troubles.

Nightfall at my little lake

My lake is small, but has everything what a lake needs in wintertime: water, ice, snow, some last birds, barking dogs and.... children, throwing stones and boughs on the ice. The best time to see the lake in winter is nighfall. Winter and night are relatives.

Birch tree I

The birch tree reminds me of sweden and all the little islands in the baltic see.

Birch tree II

Look to the world with the view of a beetle or a bird!

Prostrate!

You have to prostrate yourself in the mud as a tibetan pilgrim, if you are a photographer. Change the perspective! Our human view, one and half meter (or little more) over ground, is only one of a million possible vantage points. See how other creatures will perceive the object!

Waterside

Water, land, dead plants and sun, what a strange compound. Death and life are kissing.

abstract version

The electronic tools can amplify the hidden colours of the winterlight. Other alienations will help to see the abstract patterns in the picture.

Winterlake III

Even if my camera and my tools manage to find some remaining colours, they look somehow unreal and cold.
