Mainstaition

This is Cologne mainstaition. Cologne is only 40 kilometers away from my town. This also is a photo from the mobile camera, overworked with photoshop. Tried to catch the atmosphere...

Glowing benches

Our central park is the "hofgarten" , what means court garden, in the early time that was the hunting place for the duke. Now it is in the middle of the town. After two muderers in the park, luminescent benches were installed. Their light guarantees more securety and at the same time a highlight of artwork. I enjoyed to transfer the photo into a picture...

Bridges

The bridges over the rhine are a never ending motive. At least in our town we have five. In the old times, the western side was civilised by the romans, the eastern side was reservated to the fierce german tribes (-: That´s were i live...

The Rhine

So many photos I showed you from abroad. Now I´ll show you a little bit my surrounding. Nothing in germany is more mysterious than the river rhine. Today it´s a main traffic connection but nevertheless it´s still a artery of sentiments for the germans. We have no special midsummer ritual here, but we like to sit outside at the sands of the rhine, make a little campfire and drink a good glas of wine in the evening sun. I am very lucky to live and work only 500 meters from the riverside...

Before the thunderstorm

Later, a thunderstorm was coming with wonderfull clouds and lights. In that moment I was desperate, not to have my good camera. But now I think, maybe the simple mobile camera may be even better to make a painting!?

Meadows

Some horses under the treas on a big meadow reminded me of the of tales of the holy horse medows of the nordic religions. The horses were the symbols of Wotan, the highest God. My mobile camera did not manage to catch the view of the horses, they were too far away. But I was astonished how much photoshop could do with such a simple mobilphoto. The special feeling of the moment is caught excactly.

Flowers everywhere

The fields are full of flowers, to walk there, that is my midsummer festival.

Summer

Oh yes, it was summer! I had some time to walk around at the old places of my childhood. The region is called Schleswig-Hollstein, near Danmark. In summer -if not raining- it can be a paradise.

Roses at my fathers house II

Unluckily, I did not have my Lumix Camera with me. So I had to take all photos with my mobile-camera, that means with low pixel quality. But with some working on the picture programms, I can still show you the feeling of that moment at my fathers house, where I grew up.

Roses in my fathers house I

You know my father... you know in May we were together in Italy, the fotos were in the Blog. Now he did, what all old people do sooner or later: he fall and broke the trochanter, the big bone of the leg. But luckily he got a prothesis. After the operation I got him out of the hospital, just on the day of his 91th birthday! At his house (yes, he lives on his own, he wants it!, in his garden, many roses were flowering. A wonderfull smell of roses, all around the house!

The V-Effekt/ alienation

...and colours. Bertold Brecht wrote a lot about the V-Effekt in theater. By realising the unreal situation of a theater, by showing that he does not pretend to show reality, he wanted to make us think. I believe, that there is also a V-Effekt in photography:
the alienation effect can help us to realise the magic of a picture.
