The rhine / El río Rhin

Now we have the first warm days and it is time to go out. Outside, at the riverside of the rhine, you can feel the first slight feelings of spring.


El río Rhin. Ahora tenemos los primeros días cálidos y es hora de salir. Afuera, en la ribera del Rin, se puede sentir la primera ligera sensación de primavera.

hard to breathe

 

All the fire and smoke makes it hard to breathe, but people seem to like it. Even the vistor comes into some kind of trance or delirious state...

No escape

 

In the end, the central square and all the streets around are full of these firecrackers and firedancers.

Firedevils 2

 

The fire devils come from all sides, you just stick in the middle of them.

Attention

 

You have to pay attention, that your clothes dont catch fire.

Symbolic animals

 

Symbolic animals are runing into the gathered crowd and explode amid the peple, I admit it was a little bit frightening.

Many people also disguise as devils, red firedevils.

test of courage

 

The young people are dancing this fire dance as a test of courage. It reminds of a Saint, Santa Eulalia, who was tortured with fire.

Sparks

 

We all have the image of people dancing in the rain, here peple are dancing in the sparks of fire.

Firedances

 

than you hear firecrackers and you see people in jerking motion.

Surprise

 

Suddely there were cries in the night, coloured fogs and torches, at first it seems as a bomb attac.

A young town

 

Barcelona is a young town, many tourists and students.

Once again a crazy house, la casa Vincente. By the way, do you find me?

Carneval everywhere

 

Barcelona is a city of colours, here again in the carneval masks you find nearly the colours as in the Sagrada Familia.

No corners

 

It seems as if Gaudi was a scolar of Rudolf Steiner: her rejects corners and prefers all round forms. As if the buidings were flowers.

cloister courtyard

 

This is not Gaudi, this is the cloister courtyard of the central cathedral. But still impressing.

Near the sea

 

From the parc Guell you ´have a great view over the town. The mediteranean sea is always nearby.

This crazy archtecture is continued in other places of the town. Everywhere you find works of Antoni Gaudi, here the entrance of the parc Guell.

The very beginning

 

Here you see the beginning of the works, some decades before. The belltowers look as moon rockets.

...all this, while outside works are not finished by far.
