For the first time presents the MaxHaus graffiti art and street-art fetches young artist from Düsseldorf, Wuppertal and in the cloister, to present their works. Inspired by graffiti artists like Gerard Zlotykamien, whose works he had seen in Paris, he was a new artistic work illegally. His sprayed on house walls and concrete walls, graffiti on back then had a lot of people very provocative. Naegeli identity remained undiscovered for long, because he acted in secret, often overnight. Finally he was getting caught out but he had lost his glasses when spraying and had gone back to look for them.
Naegeli was 1981 before the Court of Zurich and was due to repeated vandalism with a heavy fine and nine months in prison severely punished - by a judge who wanted to make an example of how the WDR journalist Hubert Maessen on German radio reported on the process. The execution of the sentence Naegeli escaped by a flight from Switzerland to Germany. It issued an international arrest warrant.
Naegeli took refuge first in Cologne with the WDR editor Marianne Lienau, who had been together with her colleague Hubert Maessen 1980/81 in Zurich the (difficult) personal-contact with the journalistic Naegeli anonymous until then, it was among other things, the first major German publication on the Sprayer of Zurich originated, namely in the art magazine Art - The Art Magazine (1981) by Lienau / Maessen. After his release he returned to Düsseldorf Naegeli, probably partly due to the associated proximity to Beuys. He sprayed on - until now.
