Italy is known to be a work of art, which was built by more than a hundred generations. Often color was repainted from earlier times, craftsmen and homeowners mercilessly destroy the work of their ancestors. Yet at the same time they contribute layer by layer on the walls, they insert boards, bricks, plaster, pipes and new colors.
Like the great contemporary artists, even time and weather follow an artistic principle: that of the Decollage. They carry the top layers off again, scratching the clear view of the past times and their layers. Sie tragen die oberen Schichten wieder ab, kratzen den Blick frei auf die vergangenen Zeiten und ihre Schichten. Trotz all des ständigen Schaffens und Zerstörens hält sich alles in einem bestimmten Kanon der Formen und Farben, selbst das scheinbar häßliche findet seinen Platz und wird integriert.
