In the monastery MaxHaus opened a new exhibition.

The exhibition showed how street art, graffiti art and graffiti are approaching more and more to the art scene.

Now the works of street art emerged suddenly in a frame, so to say in a format of conventional art.

The artists of streetart, who showed their pictures exhibited in frames, were insulted as traitors by some other, because they choosed not to spray illegally at night to on the walls of the city.

It was a hot dispute. It reminded very much of the film by and about "Bansky".Fue una disputa caliente.

A true Nägeli!see: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harald_Naegeli

Who knows his spray art, will always regocnize this painter at once. He is the real senior-chief oft street art in Düsseldorf.

More about NägelI:

Inspired by graffiti artists like Gerard Zlotykamien, whose works he had seen in Paris, he was a new artistic work illegally. His sprayed on house walls and concrete walls, graffiti on back then had a lot of people very provocative. Naegeli identity remained undiscovered for long, because he acted in secret, often overnight. Finally he was getting caught out but he had lost his glasses when spraying and had gone back to look for them.

Naegeli was 1981 before the Court of Zurich and was due to repeated vandalism with a heavy fine and nine months in prison severely punished - by a judge who wanted to make an example of how the WDR journalist Hubert Maessen on German radio reported on the process. The execution of the sentence Naegeli escaped by a flight from Switzerland to Germany. It issued an international arrest warrant.

Naegeli took refuge first in Cologne with the WDR editor Marianne Lienau, who had been together with her colleague Hubert Maessen 1980/81 in Zurich the (difficult) personal-contact with the journalistic Naegeli anonymous until then, it was among other things, the first major German publication on the Sprayer of Zurich originated, namely in the art magazine Art - The Art Magazine (1981) by Lienau / Maessen. In Cologne, Cologne sprays Naegeli the brilliant dance of death, the Maessen photographically documented, and both as an exhibition in Cologne and published in book form in 1982. After staying in Cologne Naegeli moved into "Asylum" at Hubert Maessen in Düsseldorf, who was known also with Joseph Beuys.

When crossing the border after a trip to the Scandinavian home of his mother Naegeli was eventually caught at the border with Denmark. Despite extensive protests - among other things, put Willy Brandt and Joseph Beuys, one for him - he had to take his punishment and asked the Swiss authorities, in 1984 he served his sentence. In prison, some ceramics originated with the well-known figures Naegeli, Naegeli had failed to comply with the design specifications of the prison.

After his release he returned to Düsseldorf Naegeli, probably partly due to the associated proximity to Beuys. He sprayed on - until now. He also compiled a collection of drawings on paper, the so-called "particulate drawings". Here are the movement and the reduction of the concrete in the foreground. In addition to more traditional jobs in which nature often plays a role, was the large non-objective "primordial cloud" as ink drawings, in which the artist often works for months.

In cooperation with the Viennese composer Karlheinz Essl Harald Naegeli developed between 1991 and 1993, performance project, "Particle motions" in which he in galleries and museums very actions led to reduced spray acrylic glass plates, which were accompanied by music.

In the winter semester 1998/99 the graphic collection presented at the Art History Institute of the University of Tuebingen for the first time the hitherto little-known etchings by the artist from 1989 to 1998. [1] All of his etchings were then as a generous gift from Harald Naegeli in the possession of Prints and Drawings about. [2] From 6 June to 19 July 2002 put together the graphics collection as a contribution to the University Jubilee exhibition of drawings. The large-format pen drawings in the context of the so-called "primordial cloud" to play a prominent role in the work of the artist. Naegeli content it was a matter of drawing his utopia of outer space. The fine line drawings created over months and sometimes years. The individual steps of the formation were recorded accurately on the backs of the drawings. [3]

One of his last surviving male line from his time in Zurich, the female water spirit Undine on the facade of the German seminar in the beautiful mountain road, who restored the canton of Zurich in 2004 and preserved [4]. The resulting illegal graffiti sprayed Naegeli 1978 to the then-concrete wall of the Physics Institute. After a renovation in 1995 classified the Canton Building Department Sprayerei this one worth preserving and protecting them with a wooden cover. Now, with the preservation of Undine, rehabilitated the city of Zurich Harald Naegeli and calls his "graffiti" as art and as an artist Naegeli. A few more stick figure can be seen in the parking garage of the department store Jelmoli, where the "art" 2009 was also restored. [5]
